Does Mercari still charge a payment processing fee?

Not to sellers. Mercari used to add 2.9% + $0.50 on top of the 10% selling fee, taking the effective rate near 14.6%; that charge was removed and the seller now pays a flat 10%. Buyers pay a Buyer Protection fee at checkout instead. If your payout looks short of price minus 10%, check whether the 10% was applied to buyer-paid shipping as well as the item.

Who pays for shipping on Mercari?

Whoever the listing says. You can offer buyer-paid shipping (price shows lower, buyer adds shipping at checkout) or seller-paid "free shipping" with the cost baked into your price. If you pay, subtract the label cost (typically $4–$12 via Mercari's prepaid USPS/UPS rates) from the net payout this calculator shows to get your true take-home.

When does Mercari actually pay out the money?

Funds release after the buyer confirms receipt and rates the transaction, or automatically three days after delivery if they do nothing.
